“Art of the State” Winner

Angela Lapioli

TUESDAY, March 11, 7:00 PM

at the HERSHEY HISTORY CENTER (40 NORTHEAST DRIVE, HERSHEY, PA 17033)

Local artist, Angela Lapioli, whose abstract work, “Recovered Pieces” took first place painting award in the 2024 “Art of the State,” show, will present to our members and guests some of the processes and material she uses in her initial mark-making phase of painting. Her abstract paintings and mixed media works are inspired primarily from nature. Angela will also share some of the work she has created since 2017

Scenes from this years Masterpiece Night

At our January Members meeting, besides voting in three new Board members, (John Barley, Jim Davis, and Tracy Troutman), Mary Lott presented her annual Presidents Report to membership. This business was followed with a favorite HAAA event, Masterpiece Night. Members brought a personal Masterpiece or two of their favorite work to share. Below is a slide gallery of most the art shown. It was fun to see and hear the stories behind each of these artists’ Masterpieces. Looking forward to see what new Masterpieces are created in 2025!

Art In Bloom show & Sale -

Mar 28 - Mar 30, at the Hershey Story Museum, Artist Registration Deadline Mar. 25. Go to Current Events for show details.

Center Stage Arts in Health -

Jun 1 - Dec 1 at the Hershey Medical Center. We have been invited to participate in the Center Stage Art in Health program at the Hershey Medical Center. Our selected members’ art work will hang for about six months in the sensitive areas of the hospital. Submission Deadline is May 1. Go to Current Events for show details.

Two HAAA Library Gallery Rotations -

Our long running Hershey Library Gallery Room rotation, rotates every two months. The next rotation is Sat. April 12, 2025 from 10 to 10:30 am. This rotation will run through June 21, 2025 (2 months).
The next Community Room, Big Art Rotation is May 31, thru Nov 29, 2025. this space is reserved for Big Art. The room is set up to display larger art sizes of 30’ x 36’ or larger. Our current rotation is now on display until May 31. Be sure to check it out next time your at the library.
