Thanksgiving! Slow down and enjoy the holiday.
“If you are really thankful, what do you do? You share.” W. Clement Stone
“It is not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, that is the true measure of our Thanksgiving.” W. T. Purkiser
IMPORTANT!
As you know, our organization is run completely by volunteers. And, like any other volunteer organization, strong volunteer support, new voices, new ideas keep the organization vibrant. You know where I’m going with this! You many have noticed due to normal attrition some important volunteer positions have gone unfilled. Although the Board of Directors has been cheerfully going above and beyond to run shows, organize publicity, and maintain all the reporting and financial requirements, we need new faces for these key open roles. Believe me, I get plenty of suggestions for what we should do better, differently or not at all! What I don’t get are offers to carry out the suggestions.
Now’s your time. November and December are the months that we look to our members to share their talents. If you are approached by a member of the Nomination Committee or a Board Member, please consider saying YES to their request to fill an open board position, chair an event or join a committee. Better yet, don’t wait. If you have a little time and talent to share, please contact me. HAAA needs your support.
A partial list of this year’s openings:
Board of Directors positions - in particular a Secretary.
Publicity/Public Relations Chair, Program Chair, Venue Chair, Scholarship Chair
We also need some general committee members to assist with the above standing committees and special events.
I will always listen to questions and comments, especially if they come with an offer to help!! Thank you.
