The Event :
UNDER THE COLORS, our Fall Members Art Show will be held at the Hershey Public Library on October 25 and 26th. We will have over 50 local artists exhibiting their paintings, photography, 3D art, jewelry, and many more items! We will be asking the public to vote for their favorite artist. We are also doing a children’s art workshop on Sat. Oct 26 from 11 to noon – Please RSVP with the library to attend this workshop
All HAAA members in good standing are eligible to showcase, exhibit, and sell their fine and 3D art.
Each artist may submit up 4 pieces of hanging original art, (no prints or giclees). Depending on the number of artists signed up, we may increase the number of items you can bring.
Art needs to have been completed from 2020 to the present.
If your art is a large piece, please talk with the Show chair to determine if enough space is available.
Chair of Under the Colors: Mary Lott, HAAA.president@gmail.com – please contact her with any questions
Two ways you can choose to exhibit your art up:
Short Term – (Exhibit just the 2 days of show on the display racks)
OR
Long Term – in HAAA’s Hallway Gallery from 10/25/24 thru 12/14/24
Note: The Max of 4 hanging paintings/photographs can be split between the short and long-term, if desired. When registering for this show PLEASE NOTE in the bottom “Additional Message Box,” indentifying how many pieces of your art you want hung Short Term (Oct 25 & 26) and how many pieces to display for the entire Long Term, (Oct 25 thru Dec 14). THANK YOU
For 3D art, you may have 2.5 feet of table space available to exhibit your jewelry, woodwork, ceramics, sculptures, etc. Art needs to have been completed from 2020 to the present. We may need to adjust the space depending on the number of 3D artists exhibiting. We can only exhibit 3D art on Oct 25 and 26.
A separate 3-sided display rack will be available for cards (Depending on the number of artists selling cards, we may need to limit space available/artist).
The public and HAAA members will be voting on their favorite artists – the top three artists getting the most votes will win a free 2025 HAAA membership.
Set-up is Oct 24 between 2 and 5 pm. We will also ask several of the artists to help with the setting up of the display racks earlier at 1 pm. For those who work or have a time conflict to hang the art, please contact Mary Lott, HAAA.president@gmail.com to make other arrangements.
All exhibiting artists will be asked to work in two-to-three-hour shifts at the cashier/checkout table on Friday (10/25) and Saturday (10/26). We will need ~3-4 folks/shift to cover the cashier/checkout table, a greeter in HAAA’s Hallway Art Gallery, and around the Display racks within the library.
On Saturday October 26th, we ask all artists to help tear down the standing Two-day exhibit display racks at 4:30 pm sharp.
General guidelines:
All hanging artworks must be wired properly (check HAAA Show Guidelines on hersheyart.org under resources – art shows for specifics).
We will provide you with HAAA description tags to write the title of the art, medium, artist’s name, and cost of the art (price + tax = final price).
