Hershey Area Art Association Meeting March 12, 2019 at 7PM
Presenter - John McNulty
John McNulty has been a HAAA Instructor since 2015. He brings years of
painting experience to his students who describe his classes as informative, creative and fun. John has a studio in the Harrisburg Mill Works and has been a long time member of the Seven Lively Artists. He is an accomplished member of the local art community and will share his techniques, his unique style and color theory. Attend the March meeting to hear John’s engaging approach to art instruction.

**ANNUAL SPRING SHOW There’s still time to register for this annual event - Sunday, Sun Day, Sundae at the Hershey Library March 9th, 2019. This event is one or our largest shows, please consider showing your art. Details and registration form at hersheyart.org
**ALLEN THEATRE BACKSTAGE CAFE The Allen Theatre Backstage Cafe will be featuring 3 HAAA artists during the month of March. They are: Wendy Craig, Marcia Leister, and David Pringle. Come out to Annville and check out the art exhibit and support our member artists.
**COCOA BEANERY Visit the Cocoa Beanery and see the display of HAAA artists. The art at this venue changes every few months, if you want to participate register at hersheyart.org
**SHOW AND EXHIBIT OPPORTUNITIES I will be sending out a membership email regarding several opportunities for our artists to participate in area events. These are non-HAAA sponsored activities that we share with our membership. Individuals must contact the event lead. Watch for the email blast!!
**ANOTHER VOTE We are still trying to get the new bylaws approved! At the March 12th meeting you will be asked to approve the new document. The board has been working on updating the bylaws for over 6 months! They have been thoroughly reviewed by our board members, and approved by the PA Association of Non-Profit Organizations.
All that’s left is the approval from our membership. If you’re interested in reading the new version, it can be found at hersheyart.org under the NEWS menu.
**COMING SOON A revision of our HAAA Policies and Guidelines is in the works. This document details the requirements to participate in our shows for both fine artists and 3D artists. The Board of Directors is reviewing the document and plan to approve and post it in mid-March.
**REMINDER The annual dues increased to $25 and the sales commission rate increased to 20% as of January 1, 2019. Read the details at hesheyart.org Also, you can review the 2018 financial statement on the website under Info >Member Resources > Documents > Financial Disclosures.
**CLASSES Spring classes are coming up! A new pastel class with Marie Gamon was just posted. Review all the class possibilities. Register at hersheyart.org.
**SOUP COMPETITION Calling all Artful Cooks for the May meeting! Bring your best soup!
We will have a tasing of all Artful Soups to determine which soup will represent HAAA at the annual Hershey Partnership Soup Cook-off in October. Bring a pot of your tastiest Artful Soup. The winner’s recipe will be duplicated by several cooking teams and HAAA will reimburse all ingredients necessary. This is a well attended annual Fall community event sponsored by the Hershey Partnership in support of the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company.
**VOLUNTEER We continue our search for volunteers to assist us to carry out the mission of HAAA. Please consider one of the following openings:
- Program Committee - Locate speakers for general meetings
- Public Relations Committee - Handle advertising for classes and events - Reporter At Large (willing to attend shows and events and take photos) - Assist with planning for HAAA 25th anniversary celebration
